Kwara United Debut Excites Abraysports Prodigy Abiodun Omolaoye

Abiodun Omolaoye made an impressive debut for Kwara United in their 1-1 draw against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan at the Kwara State Stadium Complex Ilorin on Sunday.

The Abraysports football club prodigy who joined Kwara United FC this season from NNL side Gateway United where he had an impressive campaign last term came in the 54th minute to mark his debut replacing Thankgod Ikeagwu announced himself to the Ilorin crowd with his amazing performance.

Omolaoye was at the centre of every action ensuring that his side would steal a valuable point at home against fierce rivals Shooting Stars Sports Club on Sunday.

A goal each from captain Malomo Taofeek for Shooting Stars and Mohamed Alao for Kwara United ensured that the spoils were shared in Ilorin on Sunday.

“I am happy to mark my debut with Kwara United though not the result we wanted but all the same it was better than losing in front of our fans.

It was a difficult game with high intensity, they (Shooting Stars) gave us a good fight. Though not a satisfying result, but we will build and improve on our performance.

I appreciate my coach who believed in me and gave me the opportunity to showcase myself, I will continue to work hard and give my best to the club to see that we have a good outing this season”, he concluded.

Kwara United will next take on Bendel Insurance of Benin next weekend at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
