Magic Scouting Tourney: Ablaze picks first win, as Kolawole saves Magic Stars blushes

The maiden Magic Scouting Tourney lived up to its hype at the Legacy Pitch Surulere, Lagos, as Ablaze FC earned their first win, while Kelvin Kolawole was the star performer of the day after he saved Magic Stars from a shocking defeat despite dominating play in the second half.

Under the watchful eyes of Jonny Sanda, and Bodgan Petre of Rapid Bucharest of Romania, the two fixtures of MatchDay 1 produced a draw and win, three quality goals and breathtaking moves from the four teams- Magic Stars, Bethel FC, Ablaze FC and Power of de Cross.
The first game had Bethel FC take an early lead in the opening five minutes, profiting from Magic Stars schoolboy defending, to slice home the first goal of the tournament and going ahead to lead at halftime.
Magic Stars had their own few chances in the half but couldn’t make the most of it.
A better play from both teams in the second half but it was Magic Stars that earned a reward for its tactical team play, as Kolawole turned away from his marker before the edge of the box, to tuck home the equalizing goal.
In the second game, it was all systems go for Ablaze FC as they blazed past a helpless Power of the Cross.
The action continues on Monday with two interesting 5 pm and 6 pm fixtures between Ojodu FC and Rolly FC from Edo State and SGFC Athletics and Real Dreams.
