The Ministry of Sports on Tuesday has demanded that the Kida-led Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) hands over all the equipment and kits in their custody to the Secretariat as the Four-man Task Force Committee started working ahead of the Nigeria participation at the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, Owosports.com.ng Gathered.
This is contained in a letter made available to BSN Sports, signed by the Secretary General of the Federation, Afolabi-Oluwayemi Olabisi and addressed to the former president of NBBF, Musa Kida, titled, “Request To Handover All Nigeria Basketball Federation Sporting Equipment/Kit In Your Custody To Nigeria Basketball Federation.
The letter reads in parts, “I bring to you compliments from the Task Force Managing the affairs of the Nigeria Basketball Federation. I write to inform you that the Nigeria Senior Men’s Team (D’Tigers) will be participating at the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifier in Benguela Angola from 25th to 28th November, 2021 this championship serves as qualifiers to the 2022 FIBA World Cup. In the light of the above, I have been directed to request you to hand over all the NBBF sporting equipment/kits in your custody to the Secretariat of Nigeria Basketball Federation. Please, kindly note that your earlier action to this request will be appreciated in order to enable the Federation make adequate preparations for the championship.
This shows that the four-man Task Force Committee set up by the Ministry has taken over the affairs of the NBBF in organizing the national teams ahead of the international assignments.
