Nigeria Goal King Osimhen Gets National Honor

    Barely 24 hours to the expiration of his eight years tenure as the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has on Sunday conferred the National honor Member of the Order of the Federa Republic (MFR) to Super Eagles and Napoli star Victor Osimhen.

    The conferment of the National honours on some distinguished Nigerians is one of his final actions ahead of his handing over to a new President on Monday, May 29.

    Osimhen has further put the name of the country on the world map with his heroic performance for Napoli in the current season where he played a vitial role leading the Partenopei to the Serie A league title for the first time in 33 years under Italian manager Luciano Spalletti. It is their third ever league title.

    He has so far scored 25 league goals in the current season and is on course to becoming the first African to win the Capocannoniere for the league’s highest goal scorer.

    The MFR national honour is the fourth highest honour in the country.
