Nigeria Teakwondo Federation Athletes And Official Depart Nigeria For African Taekwondo G-4 Championships In Kigali, Rwanda

Nigeria Taekwondo Federation athletes and Officials departed Nigeria today, 13 July, 2022 to compete in the African Taekwondo G-4 Championships in Kigali, Rwanda.

The athletes have been in camp at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja training in preparation for the championship immediately after the National Open Trials.

The Taekwondo Team Nigeria comprising of two female and four male, and they are:

  1. Chinazum Nwozu (Athletes Rep.)will be fighting in the female -53kg
  2. Shola Olowookere will be competing in the male -74kg
  3. Benjamin Okuomose male +87Kg
  4. Bright Paul Kolade -80Kg and
    5.Elizabeth Anyanacho will be competing in the female -67kg and will be joining the team from Germany. Anyanacho competed in the last Olympic games, Tokyo 2020.
  5. Haruna Usman will be competing in Poomsae competition discipline of the championship.

Speaking with the Technical Director of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation Mr Egwim John Osita who had monitor the training of the athletes since the camping exercise began, believed that the athletes will do Nigeria proud over there “I want to appreciate and commend the President of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation Alh. Abdullahi Saidu Baba for his efforts and support in assuring representation of Nigeria in this championship edition and the training preparation.


The President of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation Alh. Abdullahi Saidu Baba in his word wishes the athletes the best and also make sure they are good ambassadors of Nigeria.


“I want to also wish the contingent well in their trip to Rwanda and focus to win all the medals available and enjoy their stay.


“I won’t forget to commend and appreciate the Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr Sunday Dare for all his support in making sure Taekwondo achieved greater heights in the world at large.”
