Crown FC will be travelling to Yenegoa to face Bayelsa United in the match week 13 of the NNL 2020/2021 season on Sunday.
A return leg between the two sides will definitely be a game to watch with consideration to a lot of development which happened in the clubs after their first meeting in Ogbomoso few months ago.
Crown FC won the first leg of the game in Ogbomoso 1-0 through Fabode Olaitan strike in the 32nd minutes of the game.
Bayelsa United will be looking to over turn that defeat at the Siasia Stadium in Yenegoa but the visiting Ajilete Warriors will also be approaching the game with the inspiration gained from their last game at home where they recorded 1-0 over Abia Comets.
Bayelsa have now got a new board management led by Mr Ebiki Timitimi and the 2-1 lost against J. Atete FC in their last game has placed some pressure on the team’s leadership to justify the confidence reposed on them who has also recently beefed up its Technical department with appointment of some new coaches.
“Fixtures involving Bayelsa United and Crown Fc in recent times have produced few goals starting from 27th July, 2014 when Bayelsa United pipped Crown fc one nil in a Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL game. On the 8th of June 2014 in the same season, the Yenagoa based side held Crown Fc to a two all draw at the Soun Stadium” a statement credited to Bayelsa Media Handler
“However , during the encounter of 23rd November, 2019 before the abrupt end of the NNL season, the Ajilete Warriors as they are fondly called beat Bayelsa United by three goals to one, while in 2017 Crown Fc held Bayelsa United to a one all draw at the Nembe City Stadium in Nembe with Samuel Akinibinu scoring for Bayelsa United”. The statement reads apart.
“It was just a careless mistake from my defenders and I can’t dispute the goal but the officiating was bad. Everything was against Bayelsa United” Said Coach Teibowei Diepreye of the Bayelsa team while reacting to the last encounter with the Crown in Ogbomoso.
Oladunni Oyekale, Crown FC Technical Director while speaking to newsmen in their last game expressed optimism of picking up the maximum points on the road and with some new legs in his rank, they may be posing a big challenge far away from home.
Crown FC are currently occupying 4th position with 21 points on the log while Bayelsa United are seating 5th with 20 points -thus making it a game of high expectations.
