Following the ongoing re-grassing of the Kwara State Stadium complex Ilorin, Management of Kwara United Football Club have adopted the Lekan Salami Stadium Ibadan as their alternative home ground for the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The Harmony Boys played their home matches of the CAF Confederations Cup at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos State but have opted to play their NPFL home matches at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

However the Chairman of the club Mr. Clement Kumbi Titiloye has given reasons why they decided on playing their NPFL home matches in Ibadan.

Kumbi Titiloye in an interview session on a Whatsapp platform Sports Connect said Ibadan was the closest Stadium looking at the proximity also adding that going to Lagos was more expensive.

“Going to Lagos is more expensive considering the financial challenges, Ibadan is the closest Stadium to us that why we’ve chosen to play our Home Matches in Ibadan”. Kumbi said.

Kwara United will begin their league campaign against Gombe United this Sunday at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

The Harmony have been drawn in Group A alongside, Gombe United, Bendel Insurance, Akwa United, Plateau United, Nasarawa United, Remo Stars, Enyimba, El-Kanemi and Shooting Stars.
