Olasunksnmi Alimat from Oba’laoye Grammar School Ede has emerged winner of the inaugural edition of Erelu Ngozi table tennis championship for the female Secondary School schools in Osun State.
She defeated her counterpart from Adventist grammar school Ede Hikmat Hamzat in the final of the maiden edition of the championship. She emerged by 11-8-11 while Alimat got 8-11-3.
The first two set was settled by draw before Alimat came out strong in the third set to win game. She put some strength and passion to defeat Hikmat from Adventist grammar school Ede.
Speaking after the match Alimat said she was very happy to win the championship and promised to put more effort next time. She thanked the wife of the First Lady to the Osun State Governor Her excellency Erelu Ngozi Adeleke for the support and dedication for this championship.
“ I want to pursue my career in table tennis and I have gotten an offer from the table tennis coach to come and train with them to put me in shape and help my career”. Alimat said.
