Rangers International of Enugu defeated Bendel Insurance of Benin by two goals to nil in front of their home fans to secure their eighth Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title. The Flying Antelopes secured the title with one game left to play, away to Gombe United.
Kenechukwu and Nwobodo scored the two goals that sealed the title for the Enugu-based football club. Rangers International top the log with 67 points, while Remo Stars trail behind with 62 points in second place. The significant point gap between the two teams means Rangers International have clinched the title regardless of their final result in Gombe.
Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has made history by winning the league title with Rangers International in his first season, cementing his position as a top coach in the league. The team has also secured their spot in the CAF Champions League for next season.
