Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has opened up on Ebere Eze as he admitted that the Queens Park Rangers youngerster is under pressure to choose between playing for Nigeria or England.

Nigeria made an approach to Eze, who is seen by some as the long-sought successor to midfield maestro Austin Jay Jay Okocha, that’s according to Obayiuwana Osasu, a former NFF Reforms Committee member and BBC World Football Writer via his verified Twitter handle.

“We have approached him, but not directly. Tunde Adelakun, my assistant, spoke to his Mum. What we understand is that there is a lot of pressure on him and Ebere Eze doesn’t want to give an answer now.

“Obviously, we would love to have him in the @NGSuperEagles, of course! We continue to work on getting him. It may take some time,”  says Rohr.

The 21-year-old who has been in the best form of his life for QPR in the Sky Bet Championship this season and has scored six goals so far.

Eze, is however still eligible to play for Nigeria as he is yet to feature for England’s Three Lions.
