Update: Plateau United, Rivers United And Enyimba For CAF Competition


Following the decisions being taken by the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) clubs and the League Management Company (LMC) based on the outcome of today’s meeting and resolution to use the Points Per Game (PPG) to end the season, Plateau United, Rivers United have been favoured to represent the country for next season CAF Champions League, while Enyimba goes for Confederation Cup next season.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) was suspended on march 28 2020 after conclusion of match day 25 fixtures due to the wide spread of coronavirus pandemic disease with Plateau United toping the log with 45 points being closely follwed by Rivers United in 2nd place.

Meanwhile the peoples Elephants where 5th on the NPFL table with five outstanding matches yet to be played after representing in the continent.

This decision taken makes it 2nd time in three years that the Nigeria Professional Football League has been declared inconclusive after Lobi stars where chosen to represent in the CAF champions league in 2018 as the season was abandoned.
