Vincent Edafe On Cloud Nine After CAF Champions League Qualification With Remo Stars

Goalkeeper Vincent Edafe says he feels ‘privileged and honoured’ to have secured CAF champions league qualification in his first season with Remo Stars, www.owosports.com.ng reports.

The Skyblue Stars finished second behind champions Enyimba FC to clinch the second available CAF champions league slots following their 1-0 win over Bendel Insurance on Sunday thanks to Kudus Akanni first half strike.

Vincent Edafe who joined the club last summer from Abia Warriors while speaking exclusively with www.owoaports.com.ng said they were only able to achieve this success through hard work they put in during the season.

“As an individual in my part I feel honored and privileged to have achieved this great feet in my first season as a Remo Stars player and for the team it shows that all the hard work and effort we put during the season has paid off greatly because s we believe that with hard work and dedication nothing is impossible and here we are today”. He said.

He further stated that the club had learnt from their last performance in the CAF confederation cup and believed that with the experience gathered it will help them in the continent next season.

“They say experience is a great teacher I believe with the experience we got from last season’s continental football it will help Us as a team come next season. All the same we will keep working hard as we have always done and we will pray everything work out well this time”.

Speaking on his long term injury which gave him limited playing time this season, the former Dakkada International safe hands said he’s not disturb about the lack of playing time but he’s excited to be back with the team and was also excited about the way they’ve ended the season which was more important.

“It’s ain’t easy coming back from a long term injury and not playing throughout the second round but I’m not perturbed about that but I’m happy to be back and I’m also excited about how we ended the season as a team cos that’s what is more important”, He concluded.
