Nigeria’s U-17 male team, the Golden Eaglets on Tuesday evening reached the semi-final of the ongoing 2022 WAFU U-17 tournament in Ghana following their 3-1 thrashing of Togo in their second and last Group A game, Owosports.com.ng, report.
Kewe iyede, captain Precious William, and Light Eke scored the three goals for Nigeria to record maximum six points in two matches in the group.
The battle for the semi-final tickets in Group B matches continue on Wednesday as Niger Republic face Côte d’Ivoire at 5pm while Benin Republic lock horns with Burkina Faso at 7pm in their group second matches.
Meanwhile, winners between Ghana and Togo in last Group A game on Friday will join Nigeria in semi-final of the tournament.
The two finalists in tourney book a place in the final and a spot at the CAF U17 Nations Cup in Algeria in March, 2023.
