SGFC Athletics defender Habeeb Mubaraq has declared that the team is “fired up to get our season back on track with a win against Abraysports FC.” This comes after the team suffered disappointing defeats to Barrier FC and La Planet Academia in their first two games of the 2023/2024 Nationwide League One Division One season.
Despite the setbacks, Mubarak remains optimistic, stating that the team is not yet out of the running for the top spot. “We’ve lost two games, but that doesn’t mean we’re out of the race. There are still many games left to play, and we need to make a statement with a win tomorrow. We’re fired up and will give everything to get that win.”
“It has been a disappointing start to the season for us, this isn’t what we planned for but sometimes it happens in football we just have to encourage ourselves and keep fighting for the badge.
“Yeah we’ve lost two games so far against Barrier FC and La Planet, but that doesn’t mean we are out of the race for the top spot we are still very much in the race, we just have to make a statement with a win tomorrow against Abraysports FC and I know we will come out victorious because we are fired up and we will give everything to get that win. He said.
The team will face Abraysports FC on Thursday at 4 pm, in a rematch of their previous encounter in the NLO last season, which SGFC Athletics won.
