2023 FIBA Afrobasket: Coach Rena Wakama List 20 For Africa Women Championship

Team to camp in Abuja

The head coach of Nigeria senior national female Basketball Team D’Tigress, Rena Wakama has called up twenty players ahead of the 2023 FIBA Afrobasket Women Championship holding in Kigali, Rwanda, Owosports.com.ng reports.

The team is made up of 15 foreign based stars and five domestic league players.

The home based players that made the cut are MFM’s Hembam Wandoo, Akaraiwe Nkem Uwa of Nigeria Customs as well as First Bank trio of Murjanatu Musa Linan, Mac-Dangusi Theresa and Theresa Anta Joy Ebiega.

Wakama will be assisted by Sotiminu Samson, Juli Negedu, Prince Eazela and Aisha Mohammed.

The team will begin camping in Abuja.

The 2023 Women Afrobasket begins on the 28th of this month and D’Tigress of Nigeria are the defending champions.
