SGFC Athletics goalkeeper Sodje Abayomi has named former Super Eagles and Lile of France goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama as his role model.
The young goalkeeper who has just began his top professional career with Nationwide league one side SGFC Athletics Sports Club is looking to surpass the legacy of the former Enyimba goalkeeper as he also nurses the dreams of winning the Balon Dor award for the world best player.
“Vincent Enyeama is my idol I hope to reach his level and also do more than he did for football”, Sodje told SGFC Athletics media.
Sodje Abayomi who is nicknamed (Omoiyasodje) hails from Ogun State Nigeria, he was born in Sango Ota. He is 5.9ft tall with his strongest foot being right. He is also a committed christian who believes so much in his faith.
Sodje has previously played for amateur clubs like Juvenile FC and Dominion Hotspur before joining SGFC Athletics in 2022.
Sodje possesses some of the major skill set needed from a modern goalkeeper. He is good with his feet, can play accurate short passes as well as long balls. Has has quick reflexes and can also stop penalties.
Like every other professional football player in Nigeria, Sodje also nurses an ambition of playing top football abroad and also in the colors of the National team.
