Nigeria International, Maduka Okoye has expressed joy after his recent move to English Premier League Club Watford was completed.
The Super Eagles Goalkeeper completed a five-and-half year deal, until 2027 to Watford but the Nigerian will stay at his current Dutch club, Sparta Rotterdam till the end of the season.
While details of the worth of the transfer wasn’t revealed, a Dutch platform Algemeen Dagblad has hinted that deal could be around €7M.
In a chat to Sparta Rotterdam website, Maduka Okoye gave a hint of how fast the deal went down: “After the game against Willem II, I prepared myself for the international matches in Nigeria, but in the meantime, I went to England to meet Watford,”
“That went very quickly because I had to join the national team a day later. Of course I am very proud that I can play in the Premier League, but also that I can play at Het Kasteel for our fans until the end of the season.
“Of course I really wanted this, but I also want to close it well with Sparta and that is why this is the best choice.” Okoye concluded.
